Curriculum information
The objective pursued by the Abraham Geiger College is to train rabbis and cantors who will live by the principles of Liberal Judaism and exemplify its values in modern society. This calls for a wide range of character traits, abilities, and competencies, which are to unfold over time until the ordination (Semikah) for rabbis, respectively the investiture for cantors. Great care is expended in looking after the students as they develop their academic and personal abilities.
The focus is on the following areas of growth: Candidates as spiritual and intellectual leaders, respectively as musical leaders; candidates as teachers, pastoral counselors, and advisers; candidates as managers and engaged members of society.
