On 30 July, 2017 the 23rd general assembly of the Union of Progressive Jews in Germany in Bonn has elected a new board with Rabbi Professor Walter Homolka as chairman. Rabbi Homolka (born1964) is rector of the Abraham Geiger College and a professor of Jewish theology at the University of Potsdam. He also serves as an executive board member of WUPJ and a vice president of EUPJ. Deputy chair is again Deborah Tal-Rüttger (Kassel). As board members have been elected Inna Shames (Kiel), Alexandra Khariakova (Unna) and Dan Rattan (Munich). The Union has been founded in 1997 and represents 26 communities with 5.200 members. We wish Rabbi Homolka and his fellow board members Yashar Koach in all that lies ahead!
