Shabbat Va’era:
On January 9th, cantorial student Svetlana Kundish officiated at the double bar mitzvah of Asaf and Beniamin at Warsaw’s progressive synagogue Ec Chaim together with Rabbi Stas Wojchiechowicz, accompanied on organ by Prof. Ralph Selig. The evening before, Warsaw’s progressive synagogue was packed when Svetlana chanted the blessings. Among the guests of honor received by Jewish Community president Anna Chipczynska were the Israeli ambassador to Poland, Anna Azari, and Rabbi Walter Homolka. Ec Chaim’s 5th Musical Shabbat was sponsored by the Society for Classical Reform Judaism.
