- The Abraham Geiger College’s first year student Paul Moses Strasko has won the Year in Israel Michael Klein Prize for Academic Excellence at the Hebrew Union College Jerusalem.
This can be seen as a wonderful upbeat to our co-operation with HUC-JIR's YII programme, which started in summer 2007.
- The United Jewish Appeal (UJA) New York has awarded the Abraham Geiger College a grant to develop further Lay Leadership training in Germany’s Jewish congregations.
This project was one out of three in Germany which received a grant for 2008-09. It will be pursued under the guidance, in partnership with and with the active involvement of Rabbi Prof. Samuel K. Joseph from Hebrew Union College Cincinnati.
- HUC 2008 fellow in Berlin will be Rabbi Prof. Reuven Firestone of HUC Los Angeles. He and his family will be with us between June 20 and July 20.
