Education at Abraham Geiger College is based on three principles:
- High academic standards with a broad selection of courses in Potsdam, leading to an M.A. in Jewish Studies,
- Support of students during their practical training including psychological and pastoral training,
- Supervision of the students in their pastoral practice by a rabbinic mentor.
The Abraham Geiger College is a member of the World Union for Progressive Judaism, which was directed by Leo Baeck as President (1938 - 1955). Its graduates are admitted to the Central Conference of American Rabbis. As a registered charity the College receives funds from private and public sources. Since 2007, a cooperation agreement connects us with the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. This cooperation enables all of our first-year-students to study at HUC-JIR in Jerusalem together with their U.S. and U.K. counterparts.
